Mission

Be the trusted technical partner for hospitals in your California territory. Solve problems fast, communicate clearly, and ensure equipment uptime through expert maintenance, repair, and documentation.

How you’ll make an impact

• Apply core troubleshooting to diagnose and fix STERIS and competitor systems and components.
• Drive results by independently planning PMs, service and warranty work, new equipment installations, field upgrade programs, and more.
• Use advanced technology platforms to complete regulatory/compliance tasks and to capture, resolve, and report technical issues.
• Collaborate with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to escalate and close out complex cases.
• Guide customers with clear options and pricing; with leadership support, develop relationships with Sales to enhance experience and identify growth opportunities.
• Provide coverage across multiple sites within your territory as agreements and customer needs evolve.

Role structure

Remote and customer-facing, you’ll work primarily inside hospitals. To support this territory, you must live in California. Expect variability in your schedule, including early/late hours and potential overnights, based on customer and business priorities.

What you’ll need

• High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience, with at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical capacity. An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be applied toward the technical requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet background and physical assessment criteria for vendor credentialing (both existing and new).
• Proven customer and team engagement; effective written and verbal communication.
• Comfort with PCs and mobile tools (Windows, email, navigation, apps, and multi-system data entry).

Ideal backgrounds

HVAC, refrigeration, boilers/chillers, maintenance, equipment repair, diesel/automotive, aviation, plumbing, or electrical—all tend to translate well to this role.
