Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
● Instruction and Curriculum Development
○ Set clear teaching objectives, learning outcomes, and high expectations of an appropriate difficulty.
○ Apply best practices for language learners in all lesson content.
○ Plan educational experiences that develop the social, emotional, and cultural aspects of
students’ learning.
○ Develop curriculum-aligned materials for use inside the classroom.
○ Transform learning experiences with creative use of educational technology.
○ Generate assessments that align with learning outcomes, and use them to create unit
content. ○ Collect student achievement data and adapt lesson content to meet student needs on an ongoing basis. ○ Provide students with standards-aligned descriptive feedback.
○ Conduct independent research to support the use of teaching strategies that best meet
student needs.
○ 18 teaching periods (40mins) per week.
● School Culture
○ Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which
is conducive to students’ learning. ○ Maintain good order and discipline among the students, safeguarding their health and safety.
○ Promote the ethos of the program by supporting equal, fair, and dignified treatment for
all community members.
○ Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice.
○ Participate in and help organize co-curricular activities.
● Professional Collaboration
○ Collaborate weekly with co-teachers or department to ensure consistency of class
content and assessment practices.
○ Contribute to the development and coordination of the curriculum.
○ Engage with professional learning teams.
○ Participate in the community by being actively involved in decision-making on the
preparation and development of policies, programmes of study, teaching materials, resources, and methods of teaching.
● Administrative Tasks
○ Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping, and reporting of
student progress.
○ Record all grades using our online education management software.
○ Participate in staff meetings as required.
○ Assist in assessing the candidacy of prospective students.
○ Participate in school open days and student recruitment.
○ Monitor and run a morning session study hall (7.40-8.00am) once per week.
○ Meet the minimum standard of 40 hours per week whether in the classroom or in the office.
