Logistics Coordinator

Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Arrangement: On-site (not remote)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support domestic and international supply chain operations. This role is responsible for coordinating transportation, order fulfillment, inventory-related activities, and third-party logistics relationships while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing import/export operations, coordinating transportation providers, and collaborating across multiple business functions to support customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate order management and third-party logistics (3PL) distribution activities, including order processing, scheduling, shipment tracking, returns, transportation, warehousing, and delivery.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments across ocean, air, and ground transportation modes.
  • Support the implementation and administration of customer service policies and procedures while collaborating with Sales, Finance, Planning, Operations, and Distribution teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders to resolve service-related issues.
  • Act as liaison between the organization and external logistics providers to ensure service expectations and operational requirements are met.
  • Maintain customer and operational data used for reporting, forecasting, and business analysis.
  • Monitor and report order fulfillment performance and key logistics metrics.
  • Coordinate inventory adjustments and production scheduling activities as needed.
  • Assist with transportation provider negotiations, contract administration, and rate management.
  • Analyze customer ordering trends and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve service levels.
  • Partner with IT and external partners to support EDI implementations and integrations.
  • Evaluate transportation options and recommend efficient shipping solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Process and manage freight and carrier claims.
  • Manage global inbound logistics activities, including ocean and air imports, customs documentation, regulatory compliance, and bonded warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate export operations throughout Latin America, including documentation, customs compliance, freight forwarding activities, and cross-border shipments.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, customer service, or a related operational role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to interpret business documents, contracts, transportation regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Strong reporting, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA or similar order management platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience leading projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, or supervising staff is a plus.

This position operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment and technology. The work environment is climate-controlled with a typical office noise level.

  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds periodically.
  • Ability to maintain close visual focus when working with computer systems and documentation.
