Position Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 to support production operations within the Space Components organization. The selected candidate will assist with the assembly and manufacturing of composite and metallic components used in advanced aerospace systems.

The Manufacturing Technician will work closely with production teams to follow manufacturing procedures, maintain quality standards, support production schedules, and ensure accurate completion of assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assembly of composite and metallic components following established manufacturing procedures.
• Read, understand, and follow manufacturing work instructions, drawings, and internal specifications.
• Perform hands-on production activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and engineering personnel.
• Support production goals, schedules, and workflow requirements.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and records.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
• Learn and utilize manufacturing software systems including Costpoint (CP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0 5 years of manufacturing, assembly, production, or related experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to understand written and verbal procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software systems.
• Ability to work onsite at the Northrop Grumman Miramar facility in San Diego, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience.
• Experience working with composite or metallic materials.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with adhesive bonding processes.
• Familiarity with production tools, quality processes, and manufacturing systems.
