Job Description

“Learn the science behind plant health care and build a long-term career in arboriculture.”

This is a more in-depth training path for someone interested in understanding not just how we treat plants but why.

This role offers the opportunity for year-round employment , with off-season work supporting tree crews.

What You’ll Do

  • Support tree crews with ground operations, job site setup, and safety
  • Assist with pruning, planting, and smaller tree work
  • Provide ground support for climbers
  • Apply PHC treatments using IPM principles
  • Monitor and report plant health conditions to the PHC Manager
  • Deliver high-quality service and professional client interactions

What You’ll Learn

  • Tree and shrub identification
  • Insect and disease diagnostics
  • Soil science and plant health fundamentals
  • Tree and shrub pruning techniques
  • Safe operation of tools such as chippers, chainsaws, and spray rigs
  • Electrical hazards awareness and job site safety
  • Proper rigging and tree crew operations
  • How to earn and maintain a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator’s License
  • CPR/First Aid certification

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn a skilled trade and grow within the arboriculture industry. Ultimately, the goal is to become a professional, Certified Arborist

  • Ability to perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions

  • Professional attitude with clients and team members

Experience in landscaping, lawn care, or tree work is helpful — but not required.
