Position Summary

Join an amazing team of healthcare professionals at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center (JHCC) in the Pediatric Respiratory Care Department. Full-time, part-time, and per diem positions are available. As an Advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist, your expertise in respiratory care will make a meaningful impact on patients' lives. You'll assess and treat cardiopulmonary conditions using advanced therapies, including medical gas administration, aerosol treatments, hyperinflation techniques, and mechanical ventilation management. With extensive exposure to a variety of specialties, including NICU, PICU, pediatric cardiac ICU, transport, and ECMO, you will be challenged as an integral member of a diverse multidisciplinary team while enjoying a culture of respect and autonomy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Apply specialized respiratory care knowledge to assess and recommend interventions for patients with cardiopulmonary issues
  • Administer diverse therapies including medical gas, humidity, aerosol, hyperinflation, and bronchial hygiene therapies
  • Manage both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Provide emergency care and collaborate with healthcare teams to implement tailored multidisciplinary care plans
  • Work across various specialties: NICU, PICU, pediatric cardiac ICU, transport, and ECMO

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited associate degree program in Respiratory Care
  • Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Maryland State License
  • BLS CPR certification
  • Interest or experience in neonatal/pediatric respiratory care or ECMO preferred


Experience Requirements


Advanced Position:
Minimum two years of experience with demonstrated and documented clinical and operational systems competency in a comparable respiratory care services division

Salary Range: Minimum $36.47/hour - Maximum $​​​​60.21/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
