Job Overview

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to support pathologists in the preparation and analysis of tissue specimens. This position is primarily structured for travel assignments , offering exciting opportunities to work in diverse clinical and academic pathology labs across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
  • Prepare and process tissue samples for histological analysis.
  • Assist with postmortem examinations, including autopsy procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of specimen handling, documentation, and pathology reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment relevant to surgical pathology.
  • Adapt quickly to different laboratory workflows and contribute effectively to each healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program .
  • ASCP-PA certification required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in surgical pathology or autopsy services preferred.
  • Proficient in gross anatomy, specimen photography, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to accept travel assignments to various laboratory locations.
